Overview

Fridge/Freezer Removal services

Fridge removal is for empty fridges, freezers and fridge-freezers that need lifting, carrying and loading from homes, flats, garages, shops or business premises. We cover Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire, High Peak, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire for compliant fridge and freezer disposal. The Waste Removers can handle the carry-out where access is safe, so you do not normally need to move a heavy appliance outside first. Integrated appliances must be disconnected before arrival, and all fridges or freezers should be empty. Each completed collection is documented with an invoice and Digital Waste Transfer Note, with appliances sent through an appropriate WEEE disposal route.

Scenarios we handle

Fridge removal often starts with a failed appliance in a kitchen, a garage freezer that needs clearing, a landlord appliance changeover or a shop replacing a display fridge by arrangement. The key details are whether the appliance is empty, disconnected where needed, how heavy it is and whether stairs, narrow doors or basement access affect the carry.

Domestic fridges

Under-counter, tall, American-style and fridge-freezer units removed.

Freezers

Chest freezers, garage freezers and upright freezers collected when empty.

Access checks

Stairs, tight doors, basements and shared entrances reviewed from photos.

Integrated units

Integrated fridges removed once disconnected and ready to lift.

Landlord changeovers

Appliance swaps documented with invoice, WTN and photos where needed.

WEEE route

Appliances listed on paperwork and sent through appropriate disposal.

Scope

What we clear

We remove under-counter fridges, tall larder fridges, fridge-freezers, chest freezers, American-style fridge-freezers, garage freezers and suitable light commercial units by arrangement. Display fridges, back-bar units and business appliances should be described before quoting. We do not repair appliances, disconnect integrated units, carry out specialist treatment on site or collect unsafe, leaking, food-filled or contaminated appliances as normal. Photos of the appliance, access route and any stairs help confirm the quote.

FAQs

Answers to common questions

Do you take fridges and freezers?
Yes. We collect domestic fridges, freezers, fridge-freezers and suitable light commercial units. Cooling appliances contain refrigerants that must be handled by authorised processors, so every unit goes through an appropriate WEEE disposal route rather than mixed waste.
Do they need to be defrosted?
Fridges and freezers must be empty before collection. Defrosting helps avoid water leaks during carrying and loading.
Can you remove a fridge from upstairs?
Yes, where access is safe. Please empty the appliance first and make sure integrated units are disconnected; photos of stairs, doors and tight turns help us plan the carry.
Do you take commercial display fridges?
Display fridges, back-bar units and light commercial fridges can be reviewed by arrangement when size, condition and access are clear before booking.
What paperwork do you provide?
You receive an invoice and Digital Waste Transfer Note with The Waste Removers' carrier details, including licence CBDU609834.
How do you price multiple units?
Pricing depends on the number of units, size, weight, access and whether the appliances are domestic or light commercial. Photos help confirm the quote.
Do you disconnect integrated fridges?
No. Integrated fridges and freezers must be safely disconnected before removal. We remove the appliance once it is ready to move.
What fridge items are not suitable?
Unsafe, leaking, food-filled, contaminated or incorrectly disconnected appliances may be outside the service. Specialist treatment happens through the authorised disposal route, not on site by The Waste Removers.
