Overview

Bulky Waste Collection services

Some items are simply too big, too heavy or too awkward for normal waste disposal: wardrobes on upper floors, sofas in tight hallways, exercise machines in spare rooms. We cover Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire, High Peak, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire for bulky item collections. Bulky waste collection covers the lifting, carrying and loading of large non-hazardous items where access is safe, including upstairs rooms and shared entrances when the route is clear. Send photos of the item, the access route and any disassembly needed before booking. An invoice and Digital Waste Transfer Note follow every completed collection, and we aim to divert around 95% of collected waste from landfill across the business.

Scenarios we handle

Bulky waste collection usually starts with a practical access problem: a wardrobe that will not fit down the stairs, a bed frame left after a tenancy, an exercise machine in a spare room, or several large items blocking a garage. Photos help confirm size, weight, carrying route and whether an item needs light dismantling before it can be removed.

Large furniture

Wardrobes, beds, tables, drawers and bookcases lifted and loaded.

Awkward access

Stairs, tight turns, shared entrances and lifts checked before booking.

Landlord jobs

End-of-tenancy bulky items cleared with photo records where needed.

Appliances by review

Fridges, freezers and WEEE described before booking and listed on paperwork.

Multiple items

Several large items can be quoted together when photos show the full load.

Reuse where suitable

Items in good condition separated for reuse or recycling where practical before disposal.

FAQs

Answers to common questions

What bulky items will you collect?
We collect large non-hazardous items such as wardrobes, beds, tables, sofas, mattresses, appliances, rugs, exercise equipment and similar bulky items.
Can you remove bulky items from upstairs?
Yes, where access is safe. Send photos of the item, stairs, landing, doorway or lift so the carrying route can be checked before booking.
Do you dismantle furniture?
Freestanding furniture can be dismantled where safe to help remove it. Fixed units, fitted furniture and connected services must be identified before quoting.
What happens to items in good condition?
Reusable items are separated where practical. Other materials are sent through appropriate reuse, recycling or licensed disposal routes.
Do I need to move bulky waste outside?
Not normally. The Waste Removers can carry and load items from inside the property, a garage, a yard or a managed building where access is safe.
Can you collect a single bulky item?
Yes. One item is a normal job, and several items can be quoted together when photos show the full load. Pricing reflects the item, access and loading time rather than a minimum load.
Can appliances be included?
Appliances can be reviewed before booking. Fridges, freezers and WEEE need to be described clearly because they may need a specific disposal route and paperwork.
What cannot be taken as bulky waste?
Hazardous waste, asbestos, chemicals, sharps, clinical waste, gas bottles, fuels, oils, liquid paint, unknown drums, contaminated waste and suspicious materials are not taken as standard.
